The 2003’s final match before the Easter break was an away trip to North Berwick. The conditions were tricky with a strong crosswind from the start that never let up, making any ball off the ground unpredictable. Things got harder in the first 10 minutes with NB taking an early 2 goal lead and establishing a gap that we were ultimately not to overcome. However, we took a full squad of 10 and had a good go, bringing the score back to 3-1 and then 3-2 before slipping back to 4-2 at half time. There were some good moments of skill from our team, and we carved out a few good chances that we just failed to convert. But some strong individual defensive performances were unable to stop the NB team and, together with the effect of a few tired legs, the score slipped away from us in the second half, despite a couple more goals of our own.
Now for a couple of weeks break and hopefully we’ll come back refreshed and ready for the spring fixtures!
